This mixed-media sculpture is created from recycled glass, repurposed newspaper, fabrics, flowers, stones, a lightbulb base, and jewelry elements—humble materials that, when brought together, unexpectedly formed the silhouette of the Virgin of Guadalupe. The figure emerged intuitively during one of the artist’s workshops, appearing almost as if guided by a quiet spiritual force.

In Mexican Catholic tradition, the Virgin of Guadalupe symbolizes protection, motherhood, faith, and hope. In this work, her presence rising from discarded materials becomes an act of revelation: a silent blessing, a gesture of gratitude, a recognition of the artist’s mission of creating art with women and contributing to social healing.

The sculpture reimagines the sacred through the everyday. What was once waste now embodies a spiritual icon, reminding us that faith, creativity, and community have the power to transform what is broken into something filled with meaning and light.
